Rampvan Infloor by Braun From MITS

DETAILS

The Rampvan Infloor wheelchair ready minivan by Braun is an advanced under-floor wheelchair ramp conversion for lowered-floor minivans. Building on the Rampvan's record of engineering excellence, the Infloor system provides a durable, reliable platform for entry and exit. The Rampvan Infloor by Braun 's many best-in-class features mean you get a high-quality conversion that provides durable access to your wheelchair accessible van and stows conveniently out of sight when not in use.

Why would you choose our Infloor wheelchair ramp over our comparable Foldout wheelchair van conversion? Having a wheelchair ramp that is hidden when stowed means your rear passenger doorway can be used to enter and exit the van without deploying the ramp—a real plus when dropping off children and other passengers. Many people prefer the Infloor conversion for purely cosmetic reasons. Whatever your reasons, the Rampvan Infloor by Braun  enables you to go where you want to go, in comfort, safety, and style.

The Rampvan Advantage

  • 5-second deployment and retraction on most models
  • Wide 30-inch ramp platform to handle your wheelchair or scooter
  • Level deployment allows the ramp to easily clear 8-inch curbs
  • Under-floor ramp stowage leaves both doors clear for other passengers
  • Heavy-duty reinforced ramp is rated to support up to 750 pounds
  • All-weather operation enables ramp to power through ice and muck
  • Low profile ramp enclosure provides better headroom, ground clearance
  • 12-volt gear motor and steel tensioned, polyurethane belt rated at over 840 pounds
  • Specially-designed channels move debris from moving parts
  • Convenient service panels allow easy access for maintenance
  • Low maintenance design requires just a few drops of oil to ramp bearings and carriage once a year

Standard Features For
The Rampvan Infloor by Braun

The Rampvan Infloor by Braun minivan is the latest in more than 15 years of advances in mobility technology. Our Infloor conversion is made with the same precision and care as our Foldout model Rampvan, but has some additional benefits that many customers have asked for.

The biggest advantage of the Rampvan Infloor by Braun is that the ramp stows completely under the floor of the cabin, leaving the passenger door accessible for other passengers to enter and exit the van. In addition, here is a rundown of the standard features included with the Rampvan Infloor by Braun system:

  • Power passenger sliding door and power Infloor ramp   Our ramp features a powder-coated, non-slip surface to provide traction even when it's raining or snowing. And the ramp and door open and close quickly to keep out inclement weather.
  • 9-3/4-inch floor drop   To put you at a comfortable level as a passenger or driver, we drop the floor of the Infloor van by 9-3/4 inches. This also helps decrease the angle of the ramp when deployed.
  • Power kneel system   Lowering the minivan's floor can only decrease the ramp angle so far. To get the angle even lower, making access easier and safer, we include our power kneel system, which compresses the passenger-side suspension of the van to shave precious degrees from the ramp angle.
  • Remote entry system   One-touch pushbutton control allows you to open or close your van's door and ramp system from a distance. With Chrysler/Dodge chassis, the system uses the OEM remote control. With Toyota vans, a separate remote is provided.
  • Quick-release front seats   Captain-style seating includes a raised seat platform that raises ambulatory passengers or drivers to a comfortable height. Both seats roll in and out easily. All you have to decide is who's going to do the driving.
  • Convenient activation   With the Rampvan Infloor by Braun system, one touch of a button opens the door, activates the power kneel system, and deploys the under-floor ramp. Activation switches are conveniently located on the dashboard, the door post, and on the included remote control.
  • Exterior magnetic entry   For added convenience and security, our "mag-entry" system allows you yet another entry option. Simply hold your magnetic key chain fob to the exterior switch of the van to automatically open the door and deploy the ramp.
  • Ramp obstruction detection   What do garbage cans, trees, cars, and kids have in common? They can all get in the way of the wheelchair ramp. Fortunately, if the ramp or door encounters an obstacle while opening, our "bump and reverse" system immediately reverses deployment to prevent damage to the van or to the obstructing object or person.
  • Ample ramp load capacity   Worried about upgrading to a larger power chair? The Rampvan Infloor by Braun system has passed weight testing of up to 750 pounds, and is durable to hold up under heavy-duty use.
  • Low ramp angle   Exiting your wheelchair-accessible van shouldn't be too exciting. Our lowered floor and power kneel system allow for a low ramp angle, which makes it easier for wheelchair and scooter users to get in and out.
  • Wide ramp platform   The Rampvan Infloor by Braun system provides a full 30-inch-wide platform to handle wide chairs.
  • Emergency manual operation   We hope you never have to use this feature, but we've got you covered just in case. In the event of a power or mechanical failure, you can deploy your Infloor ramp with 11 easy cranks of our conveniently-located manual release system. That way, you'll always have an exit strategy.
  • Multi-position wheelchair tie-downs   All Rampvans come with multiple wheelchair tie-downs, placed throughout the vehicle. Optional power lock-downs can also be installed by your dealer if you prefer. See your dealer for more information.
  • Custom interior and exterior accents   We put a great deal of effort into creating conversions that are attractive as well as functional. Features such as color-coordinated interior carpeting and accents, custom lower body panels, custom door extensions, and an interior spare tire carrier and cover make your van look and feel as if it came straight from the factory.

OPTIONAL FEATURES For
The Rampvan Infloor by Braun

In addition to all of the bells and whistles that come standard with the Rampvan Infloor by Braun  , we offer a number of optional features that can add to your comfort and convenience. Talk to your dealer about the options that would make the most sense for you.

  • Pre-tensioning seat belt receptacle   If you will be riding up front or driving from your wheelchair, then this option is a must. This option allows you to buckle up correctly no matter where you sit.
  • Rear air modification   This option is required only if your chassis has rear air. It covers recharging your van's coolant system after rerouting air conditioning lines.
  • Passive restraints   Passengers riding in the center seating area must be restrained while the van is in motion. Our sturdy passenger restraints serve as "wheelchair seat belts" to help keep passengers in their chairs during extreme driving conditions.
  • Manual 4-point tie-down straps   We ship each van with a set of tie-down straps. If you need an additional set, we can easily provide one.
  • Electronic Vehicle Entry (EVE) system   Several steps above our magnetic entry system, our EVE system allows for a safer alternate form of keyless entry. Located in the rear tail light, the EVE sensor uses a microelectronic transponder and receiver that is coded for security. Only the holder of this fob can open the vehicle.

Safety Features For
The Rampvan Infloor by Braun

We recognize that getting there safely is more important than getting there at all. The Rampvan was the first lowered-floor minivan to pass the U.S. government's crash test program over ten years ago. All Rampvan conversions continue to meet or exceed all U.S. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. Here are just a few of the safety features we build into each conversion:

  • Ramp surface is powder-coated with a high-traction material to prevent accidental slips, even in inclement weather.
  • Side safety rails help make certain that wheelchairs and scooters stay on ramps during entry and exit
  • Emergency release mechanism ensures that everyone can exit the van in case of power or mechanical failure
  • Bump-and-reverse system allows both ramp and passenger sliding door to reverse upon contacting an obstruction
  • Power kneel system compresses the suspension on the ramp side of the vehicle to provide a safer ramp slope for entry and exit
  • Level-deploying ramps clear most curbs and sidewalks, enabling greater choice in parking and stopping situations
  • Tie-downs for wheelchairs and scooters snap quickly and securely into built-in receivers conveniently located throughout the vehicle

In addition to the safety features we add, the minivan we use to create your Rampvan also has its own list of protective features. To find out more about safety features associated with your particular chassis, follow the links below:
