The BraunAbility 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan Lowered Floor Vehicle is the culmination of over thirty-five years’ experience in building personal mobility products. Style, performance, convenience and safety have been aesthetically blended to achieve a new level of refinement in a wheelchair-accessible minivan.

Ground Effects & OEM Styling - The lines of the vehicle are integrated into the custom ground effects, complimenting the sleek automotive styling.

OEM Keyfob - The accessible functions are controlled by the new Dodge Grand Caravan keyfob – an exclusive feature patented by BraunAbility. Additional interior control switches are conveniently located on the dash and to the right of the ramp. Control of the vehicle’s accessible features is built into the Chrysler remote control. Quick-touch operation assures simple, convenient and reliable operation.

OEM Door Operator - BraunAbility teamed up with Delphi to re-engineer the original Chrysler door operator, extending the length of travel 3.5” to accommodate the ramp. The result is a custom door operator with Dodge reliability. The OEM Chrysler power door operator opens the sliding door at the touch of a button. The vehicle must be equipped with the OEM Chrysler Power Door Operator.

New Ramp Design - The ramp features a quicker kick-out of the folding section for more reliable deployment on uneven surfaces. An easily-accessible override switch allows users to stow the ramp using direct battery power. The lightweight foldout ramp offers unparalleled ease of access for wheelchair and scooter users.

Automatic Kneeling Rear Suspension with On/Off Switch - The time-tested BraunAbility kneeling system reliably lowers the rear suspension, reducing the slope of the ramp. The kneeling actuator is protected from the elements under the rear bench seat, and features an override switch as well. The vehicle features a kneeling system to make boarding even easier. An actuator lowers the rear suspension while the door opens, which reduces the slope of the automatic ramp. The system can be de-activated when desired.

Lowered Floor Area - There’s more room to maneuver a wheelchair than ever, with 57” inches from the rear wall to the front seats, and 59” from b-pillar to b-pillar. Custom molded lower trim panels and front seat bases provide a clean fit and finish. 10” lower than conventional minivans, the floor is lowered from the firewall to the rear axle and provides a choice of three wheelchair securement positions.

Step-and-Roll Front Seats - Removing the front seats has never been easier – just step on the foot lever and roll the seat out of the van. The driver and passenger seats can be easily removed to provide wheelchair securement positions in the front of the vehicle.

Roll and Tumble Rear Seating - When more room is needed, the split rear bench seat can easily be rolled forward to over 40 cubic feet of cargo space.

OEM-Style Switches - Operational switches are conveniently located throughout the interior for wheelchair users’ convenience. The switches match the OEM style and appearance.

Rear Cargo Area - Two under-floor storage compartments keep the spare tire and other essentials out of your way until needed.

Wheelchair/Occupant Securement System - One belt system is included for use with the floor-mounted tracks.

Gateway Module - Working closely with Chrysler, BraunAbility developed the Gateway Module to ensure the accessible conversion communicates properly with the original Dodge electrical system.

Suspension & Ride - Only minor modifications are made to the rear suspension during the conversion process, resulting in a smooth ride that is as close to OEM as possible.
